We are diverse and inclusive

As we are a global firm, Diversity and Inclusiveness (D&I) is one of Ernst & Young’s top priorities.

Changes in world demographics are impacting the composition of our workforce. We need to take into account the new mix of cultures and individual characteristics that shape our workforce and the different work styles that build our talent pool. We strongly believe that a varied mix of people makes Ernst & Young a better and more inspiring place to work at. Embedding an inclusive culture helps our people achieve their potential and make a difference — wherever they come from and whatever their characteristics.

Within our D&I program there is special attention for the position of women in our organization. In the Netherlands we have started a Womens Leadership Program in 2005. This program is developed to empower women to shape their own careers based on authenticity, personal leadership and entrepreneurship. And not without success. In three years time Ernst & Young doubled the number of female partners.
Our ambition for 2013 is emphasized by signing the Charter Talent to the Top which has resulted in concrete targets. ‘Numbers are no goal as such but it shows our commitment to increase the number women in the top and sub-top of our organization. We really benefit from more talented women on management positions’, CEO Pieter Jongstra emphasizes. ‘Therefore we fully subscribe LEAP!, an excellent platform for entrepreneurial women who wants to shape their career based on authenticity, ambition and strength.’
