IBM and female talent

IBM has long recognised the important contribution women make to the company. It hired women as system services professionals back in 1935 and named its first female vice-president in 1943. It has been named one of the top 10 US companies for working mothers for 21 consecutive years.
Today, women hold top jobs in IBM. Not only are they leading major business units, but also occupying IBM’s highest posts as general managers for Spain, Portugal, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Slovenia and leading parts of our business. But more needs to be done, especially in the Netherlands where the presence of female business leaders is still too low. IBM will support the initiatives of LEAP! to help talented female professionals finding their way to the boardroom.
