As we celebrate this 100th International Women’s Day, LEAP has a special reason to be in a celebrating mood: the Womenomics 101 survey: Focus on The Netherlands (download PDF).
We are presenting the results of this groundbreaking study about gender balance in the top ten Dutch corporates today, on this 100th International Women’s Day. According to the Womenomics 101 survey: Focus on The Netherlands KPN, Unilever, Rabobank and Ahold rank best four out of the ten corporates the study focused on.
Four women
The findings reveal that, “gender balance is not in sight yet in the Netherlands. Of the TOP 10 companies in the Netherlands, the majority (60%) do not have a single woman on their Executive Committee. The other four companies have one.”
Womenomics 101 survey: Focus on The Netherlands further shows that, “among the 77 people at the Executive Committee level of the Netherlands’ top 10 companies, only 4 are women. 3 of them are in line / operational roles, 1 of them in a staff, or support, function.”
Straightforward
Dr Mijntje Lückerath-Rovers from Erasmus University conducted the Dutch study. “Because of the rather straightforward method – the study focused on the executive level – and the fact that comparisons can be clearly made with other countries, this study would be instrumental in the international debate about gender balance in the corporate top.”
Higher level
Erica van Ooyen, founder and director of LEAP, says comprising only the executives, as the survey does, really shows the actual decision makers in an organization. “This takes the gender balance debate to a higher level.”
Womenomics 101 survey: Focus on The Netherlands is a globally run survey by 20- First, one of the world’s leading gender consultancies, and LEAP, the business community for female leadership.
