What do executives and LEAP-members have to say about new leadership and what qualities do they think future leaders should have? Loyens & Loeff’s newly appointed managing partner intends to be ‘an inspirational leader.’
Maarten van der Weijden, appointed managing partner with Loyens & Loeff as of June 2010: “If you look at the younger generation, you can ask yourself if the old leadership style works. Take my own children for example. If I take them to the office and tell them how we work, they find me outrageously outdated and old fashioned. So leadership should be prepared to change.”
He continues: “I would like to be an inspirational leader to my colleagues and associates. That means giving them the trust to fully develop themselves.”
LEAP-members who work for Loyens & Loeff can have a say in how Maarten intends to this during the LEAP Dialogues sessions at Loyens & Loef Amsterdam and Loyens & Loef Rotterdam on 25 and 30 March respectively.
